YUL: downtown, Laval and the West Island need different plans

Montréal airport’s official bus information lists the 747 connection between YUL and downtown Montréal as a 24-hour service. That does not mean every onward connection runs all night, or that a downtown bus is the best first leg for every address.

Use the destination to narrow the choices

Downtown Montréal: compare the 747 and your final walk or connection with a vehicle quote. Check where you need to get off, especially when carrying several bags.
Laval: price and time the onward journey rather than treating arrival downtown as the end of the trip. A crew heading to central Montréal may not share your route.
Longueuil: include the cross-river portion and the service available at your actual travel time.
West Island: check your specific address first. Travelling downtown and back may add effort that a headline airport-bus comparison hides.

Buy the right journey, not just an airport ride

Before purchasing, use the airport’s current guidance to confirm the correct ticket and payment options. Do not assume a ticket from another city, an ordinary bus fare, or a bank card will work in the same way. This guide deliberately avoids a fixed fare because products and prices can change.

A practical shared-trip check

Compare each traveller’s final neighbourhood, bags and readiness time. If one flight is delayed, agree how long the crew will wait and what the late traveller should do independently. Keep meeting details in accepted-member chat, and use the signed pickup area for the chosen provider.

Example: a downtown traveller and a Laval traveller should compare the detour and full quote before agreeing to split evenly. A shared airport origin alone does not make the destinations compatible.

Turn your arrival into a workable plan

Use the airport’s local time. Enter when you expect to be ready to leave, allowing for immigration, baggage collection and delays.
Check people and luggage. Review available seats, bags and the destination. Create your own Arrival Crew if existing plans do not fit.
Request approval. Every accepted member must approve a join request before the requester can access private group messages and the meeting point.
Coordinate after acceptance. Confirm your public meeting location, route, drop-off order and what happens if a flight is delayed.
